Actor Diego Boneta partners with the number one imported beer in the United States to encourage fans to share photos of their best #LimeDrop

CHICAGO, Ill., May 5, 2016 - Today, Corona Extra is asking fans everywhere to grab their friends and ready their limes, to take part in the first-ever nationwide Lime Drop to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

To participate, fans simply follow Corona Extra on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, capture and share a photo of their most creative Corona Extra Lime Drop and tag the brand on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using #LimeDrop at the most Cinco time of the year, 5:55 p.m. local time on May 5.

"We've been proud to play a part in consumers' Cinco celebrations in the U.S. for the past 35 years," said John Alvarado, vice president, brand marketing at Constellation Brands. "Since everyone knows Corona and lime are the perfect pair, what better way to celebrate than bring the two together to celebrate Cinco de Mayo?"

Diego Boneta will be sharing his own unique Corona Extra Lime Drop photo while encouraging fans to share theirs at 5:55 p.m. on May 5, to find their beach and celebrate the countdown to Cinco de Mayo.

"The second you crack open your Corona and drop in a lime, you just know instantly that it's time to unwind and have a good time," said Diego Boneta, who has triple citizenship in Mexico, Spain and the United States. "That's why I am looking forward to joining fans nationwide in celebrating Cinco de Mayo with the Corona Extra Lime Drop."

Corona Extra was introduced in the United States in 1981 and is the #1 selling imported beer in the U.S. and the #5 selling beer overall. Last year in the two weeks surrounding May 5, consumers bought more than 145 million bottles of Corona Extra accounting for 51 percent of all beer sales, making it the #1 beer of Cinco.
