About

Rob Sands is Constellation’s chief executive officer. Rob is responsible for providing strategic leadership, working with the board of directors and other management to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. He leads the executive management committee and is a member of the board of directors.

Rob began his career with the law firm of Harter, Secrest & Emery. He joined Constellation Brands in 1986 as general counsel. In 1993, he was appointed executive vice president and general counsel. In 1998, he was named chief executive officer of Constellation International. In 2000, he became group president for Canandaigua Wine Company and the U.K. Division, and in 2002 he was appointed president and chief operating officer for Constellation Wines and Constellation Beers and Spirits. In 2007, Rob was named company president and CEO. In 2018, he continues to lead the organization as CEO and has transitioned his responsibilities as president to Bill Newlands, president and chief operating officer.

Rob is board chairman of the New York Wine and Culinary Center and of the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.  He is a member of the boards at Pace University, the Rochester Regional Health System and Thompson Health.
